The Magic Mirror

Lily was a shy and timid girl who always felt insecure about her appearance. She thought she was too plain and boring, and that no one would ever notice her. She wished she could be more like her best friend Mia, who was beautiful and popular and always had a smile on her face.

One day, Lily found a magic mirror in an antique shop. The shopkeeper told her that the mirror could show her anything she wanted to see. Lily was curious and decided to buy the mirror. She took it home and hung it on her bedroom wall.

She looked into the mirror and said, "Show me what I want to see."

The mirror shimmered and changed, and Lily saw herself as a stunning beauty with long blonde hair, blue eyes, and a perfect figure. She was wearing a gorgeous dress and had a crown on her head. She looked like a princess.

Lily gasped and smiled. She felt a surge of happiness and confidence. She thought, "This is how I want to look. This is how I want to be."

She spent hours in front of the mirror, admiring herself and imagining how different her life would be if she looked like that. She forgot about everything else: her homework, her chores, her friends.

The next day, she skipped school and stayed at home with the mirror. She didn't answer Mia's calls or texts. She didn't care about anyone else but herself.

She looked into the mirror and said, "Show me what I want to see."

The mirror shimmered and changed, and Lily saw herself as a famous singer with millions of fans. She was on stage, singing and dancing with a dazzling smile. She looked like a star.

Lily clapped and cheered. She felt a rush of excitement and pride. She thought, "This is what I want to do. This is what I want to be."

She spent hours in front of the mirror, pretending to be a singer and dreaming of fame and fortune. She forgot about everything else: her family, her hobbies, her values.

The next day, she locked herself in her room with the mirror. She didn't talk to anyone or eat anything. She didn't care about anything else but herself.

She looked into the mirror and said, "Show me what I want to see."

The mirror shimmered and changed, and Lily saw nothing but darkness. She was alone in a void, with no sound or light or life. She looked like nothing.

Lily screamed and cried. She felt a wave of fear and despair. She thought, "This is what I have become. This is what I have done."

She realised that she had lost herself in the mirror, that she had given up everything that made her who she was: her personality, her talents, her friends, her family.

She wished she could go back to the way things were before, when she was happy with herself and grateful for what she had.

She looked into the mirror and said, "Show me who I really am."

The mirror shimmered and changed, and Lily saw herself as she was: a kind and smart girl with brown hair, green eyes, and a cute smile. She was wearing a simple dress and had a book in her hand. She looked like herself.

Lily smiled and wiped her tears. She felt a sense of relief and acceptance. She thought, "This is who I am. This is who I want to be."

She put away the mirror and opened the door. She apologised to her parents for being rude and selfish. She called Mia and told her she missed her. She went back to school and worked hard on her studies.

She learned to love herself for who she was, not for who she wanted to be.

She realised that the mirror was not magic at all.

It only showed her what she already had inside: self confidence.

The moral of this story is that self confidence comes from within, not from external factors. It is important to be yourself and appreciate what you have, rather than compare yourself to others and chase after unrealistic ideals. You are beautiful and valuable just the way you are.😊
